Leicester City linked with a move for Celtic £20m midfielder

first_img Loading… Leicester City are once again being linked with a move for Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor. The Foxes reportedly had a bid for the Scotland international knocked back last summer. McGregor signed a new contract at Parkhead in November – but that has not stopped speculation surrounding his future. Leicester are said to be lining up a £20million bid for the 27-year-old. And pundit Noel Whelan believes the prospect of a reunion with manager Brendan Rodgers could tempt McGregor to leave the Scottish champions. “That’s a big reason for players wanting to leave,” former Leeds United striker Whelan told Football Insider. “If you know the manager already and you’ve worked underneath him, that trust is already there between player and manager. “It helps you settle into a club very, very quickly. You feel a lot more comfortable moving when there’s somebody there you know already. “I’m sure Brendan (Rodgers) will make him feel very comfortable playing in the Premier League. “It would be a great addition for Leicester as Celtic play a similar way to Leicester. “When Brendan (Rodgers) left, (Neil) Lennon’s come in and he’s kept everything the same because it wasn’t broken. “All he’s done is add his own little spin onto it. “It’ll be an easy transition going to Leicester for the player.” Simply type your email address into the box at the top of this article and hit sign up. McGregor addressed interest from City last year in an interview in May. “The stuff in the summer was nice to hear – that an ex-manager liked working with you,” he said. “There was speculation and you kinda do have half an eye on that, but you are also just focused on doing your best for Celtic. “I had a job to do for the club and as soon as I got the contract sorted, I just felt like I went from strength to strength. “I am very happy at the club and that was very well reciprocated in terms of what the club did for me.” FacebookTwitterWhatsAppEmail分享 center_img Promoted Content10 Inventions That Make Us Question Humanity7 Facts About Black Holes That Will Blow Your Mind10 Risky Jobs Some Women DoCouples Who Celebrated Their Union In A Unique, Unforgettable WayWhy Do So Many Digital Assistants Have Feminine Names & Voices?7 Actors Who Quit Movies For Shocking Reasons8 Things That Will Happen If An Asteroid Hits EarthA Soviet Shot Put Thrower’s Record Hasn’t Been Beaten To This DayWhich Country Is The Most Romantic In The World?Top 10 Tiniest Phones Ever Made7 Black Hole Facts That Will Change Your View Of The UniverseBest & Worst Celebrity Endorsed Games Ever Madelast_img
