In the period from April 1 to July 19, 2019, tourism inspectors of the State Inspectorate performed 651 inspection supervision with providers of catering services in the household – renters, in which it is determined 97 different violations of regulations. For the established violations of regulations, the tourist inspectors submitted to the competent misdemeanor courts 10 indictments for instituting misdemeanor proceedings, they issued 14 misdemeanor warrants, they also charged 64 penalties at the scene of the offense, they brought 13 administrative decisions, and they are in two cases confiscated property. Exceptionally, the sojourn tax is not paid by the owners of the holiday home and members of his family, if the holiday home is the original old family house acquired by inheritance. A holiday home or apartment is considered to be any building or apartment that is used occasionally or seasonally, and which is not an accommodation facility. These persons can pay the sojourn tax per night or a lump sum. Inspections of non-commercial accommodation are performed by tourist inspectors of the State Inspectorate in accordance with operational work plans, as well as citizens’ reports, and the results of inspections during the tourist season will be available at the end of the season, the State Inspectorate concludes.
