YOUNG DONEGAL GIRL DIES IN ROAD CRASH, SISTER CRITICALLY INJURED

first_imgA 12-year-old girl has died in a road accident in County Derry.The victim – from Inishowen – was in a car which collided with another vehicle at the Tamnaherin Road turn-off from the main Derry to Belfast Road, about 10kms outside Derry City.The young victim was from Clar, between Redcastle and Moville and was a popular student at Moville Community College where she excelled in her subjects and at sports. The girl’s older sister has been transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast where she is in a critical condition.Police had closed the road to allow a full forensic examination of the scene. It was re-opened at 1am.The crashed happened just after 5.40pm last night at the junction which is the main turn-off for traffic going to Eglinton.Traffic was being diverted along the Tirbracken Road.
