UPROAR OVER DELAYS CAUSED BY SERIOUS CRASH

first_imgThere is outrage this morning at the delays caused by this morning’s serious road crash in Letterkenny.The scene of this morning’s tailback. Picture by Brian McDaid.Hundreds of cars have been stuck for up to TWO hours on the dual carriageway following the crash at Drumnohoagh close to the Dry Arch Roundabout.Gardai are at the scene but eye-witnesses say enough is not being done to get the traffic flowing. The road has been closed as accident investigators carry out an investigation into last night’s crash.People are beginning to get annoyed with eachother and there has been a number of verbal altercations between motorists.Some people are leaving their cars and walking the distance into Letterkenny.Many offices have not opened as a result of employees being unable to get into work. Among those stuck in the traffic has been local Dr James McDaid who was stuck in traffic more an hour and a half as he was answering an emergency call.Local photographer Brian McDaid took this picture of the bumper to bumper traffic.One woman stuck in traffic said “Our thoughts are with the young man who has been hurt but this is simply ridiculous.“People are getting very annoyed and I fear there is going to be another accident if this is not managed soon.”Some motorists have been forced to go an get cans of fuel because they have run out.
