View Comments The complete cast is now set for the West End premiere of the Tony-winning musical Memphis. Joining the previously announced Beverley Knight as Felicia Farrell and Killian Donnelly as Huey Calhoun are Rolan Bell as Delray, Tyrone Huntley as Gator, Claire Machin as Gladys, Jason Pennycooke as Bobby and Mark Roper as Mr. Simmons. Under the direction of Christopher Ashley, the tuner will begin performances on October 9 at the Shaftesbury Theatre. Opening night is set for October 23. With an original score by Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan and a book by Joe DiPietro, Memphis takes place in the segregated ’50s, where a young white DJ named Huey Calhoun fell in love with everything he shouldn’t: rock and roll and an electrifying black singer. The show won four Tony Awards in 2010, including Best Musical. The production will feature the work of many members of the Broadway engagement’s creative team: choreographer Sergio Trujillo, set designer David Gallo, costume designer Paul Tazewell and lighting designer Howell Binkley. A 23-year-old man who works at a Florida hospital caring for the elderly is facing charges after he was allegedly caught sucking a sleeping patient’s toes, according to arrest records.Police arrested Frantz Beldorin early Tuesday morning for battery on a person 65 years or older.Investigators say the victim, a patient at Gulf Coast Hospital in Ft. Myers, told the sheriff’s office they were woken up on Monday after feeling someone touching their foot. He said he felt something wet between their toes, and when he looked over, the victim said they saw Beldorin on his knees next to the bed.The victim said they “ripped” the foot away from Beldorin.last_img read more
