The thirteen-story building at 22 Haganim Street in Ramat Hasharon is situated on a large parcel of land (3500 sq. meters). “22 Haganim st. is a unique landmark in the development of an architectural language we have been exploring and developing for the past several years – building ‘Villas in the Air’.” This new language marks a breakthrough of the traditional typology of a building with a ground floor, topped by story after story of identical floors, and a penthouse. The Villas in the Air mark a departure from repetitive, typical floors, and replace them with a variety of types of floors on top of each other, creating large rooftop terraces along the entire height of the building.Save this picture!Ground Floor PlanDaring enterprising and bold architecture, combined with the special City Planning specifications for the area, on the outskirts of Ramat Hasharon, enabled this innovation – The construction volume is larger than the sum of the designated building rights, presenting us with the opportunity to play with the mass and sculpt it anew, as we were not bound by the limitations of typical urban plots that mandate adhering to rigid lines of construction. We thus had the opportunity to design 17 different apartment types (for a total of 56 units) each of which offers a large terrace, of the size that only garden apartments and penthouses have enjoyed to date. In addition, we planned several independent garden apartments and unique duplexes.Save this picture!© Amit GeronFurthermore, despite the complex and changing program, the project was planned so that the construction and the plumbing system envelop the building at identical points all along its length. This creates open, flexible spaces that can be changed in accordance to the tenants’ needs.Save this picture!Type 1 PlanWe enjoyed the benefits of prefabricated construction – quick work and a unified outcome that combines a variety of finishes – black aluminum plates that highlight the console-like boxes, black aluminum glass cases, and light natural stone for the building surface. Unlike standard residential towers, the lobby on each floor is ventilated. The lighting is sunlight that brings in the view open from all public places in the one-of-a-kind 22 Haganim st.Save this picture!© Amit GeronSave this picture!SectionSave this picture!© Amit GeronProject gallerySee allShow lessHabitat Andergassen Urthaler / Architekt Andreas GruberSelected ProjectsYast Khaneh / Mohammad Khavarian + Awe OfficeSelected ProjectsProject locationAddress:HaGanim St 22, Ramat Hasharon, IsraelLocation to be used only as a reference. Press release: UK to lead international hunt for life-changing innovations

first_img Here in the UK, as we prepare for leaving the European Union, we face an important question: how will we as a country make our way in the world? What sort of country do we choose to be? My answer to this is clear: we will only thrive if we embrace ideas and openness, and double down on an innovative economy. Our Industrial Strategy will be key to this. And we are backing this engagement with investment. Already, we have announced the biggest increase in public R&D investment for over 40 years, including the establishment of a £4.7 billion Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund to back business-focused research. And we are going further. As part of our industrial strategy, we have set out our ambition to increase the UK’s R&D spend to 2.4% of GDP by 2027. EUREKA is a platform to support those partnerships in research and innovation, enabling businesses to collaborate across borders, accessing new knowledge, capabilities and markets. Today, I am delighted to announce that the UK will inject an additional £10 million for UK companies to collaborate with global businesses on innovation projects through the EUREKA platform, helping to create new products and services and drive business growth. It is with great pride that I launch the UK’s EUREKA chairmanship, beginning on 1 July, here among so many partners from around the world. I look forward to seeing all you achieve in the coming year. Science Minister Sam Gyimah last night launched the UK chairmanship of the international innovation network EUREKA, addressing the global challenge to hunt for world-changing products and services needing support to reach the market. He attended the event celebrating the UK taking on the chairmanship of EUREKA – a global network which has invested nearly £35 billion in projects in 40 countries worldwide- for the third time. EUREKA, brings together more than 40 nations to collaborate on research and development and supports the ambitions of the government’s modern Industrial Strategy.During the one-year chairmanship, the UK aims to expand the global reach of EUREKA and will invest an extra £10 million to support UK businesses and innovators bring new products to market.Speaking at the launch Science Minister Sam Gyimah said: EUREKA is a unique network which brings together the largest grouping of national ministries and innovation agencies, including UKRI, to support global business-focussed research and development. It aims to help businesses grow and encourages greater collaboration across borders.Since EUREKA was founded in 1985, businesses involved have shown an additional annual turnover growth of 15% better than non-participants one year after the project finishing and companies in EUREKA showed an additional annual employment growth of 7% compared to non-participating firms.Notes to editors: Since its creation in 1985, EUREKA has supported a range of companies and organisations.Developing a simple, effective and highly accurate blood test to detect transplant diseases has been led through a UK and Belgium EUREKA project. Its impact has reduced transplant costs by better targeting resources and is helping to improve patient’s recovery from transplants.Cambridge based Intelligent Fingerprinting received a boost through a EUREKA project, led by the UK, Norway and France, that focused on speeding up police investigations by using new computing techniques to help scan seized storage devices. The programme has been used by major law enforcement agencies around the world.During the event, it was also confirmed that an additional £10 million of funding is being provided to UK EUREKA participants that will open up global R&D and innovation collaboration opportunities for UK companies to help drive growth. This will help to create new products and services by providing access to specialist knowledge, people and capability supporting UK companies to take advantage of global market opportunities.Key facts: EUREKA has been in existence for over thirty years involves 45 countries supports nearly 7,000 projects has worked with over 17,000 companies nearly £35 billion already invested British businesses and innovators to get £10 million boost to bring their ideas to global market calls for Britain to ‘double down’ on innovation to make our way in the world after leaving the European Union EUREKA is supported by a Secretariat based in Brussels, who are a non-profit organisation the current UK budget for EUREKA programmes is €4.5 million annually further information availablelast_img read more

Dave Matthews To Perform At Bernie Sanders Voter Rally Concert

first_imgWith the primary in California coming up shortly, presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders is doing his part to raise youth awareness before the big vote. Sanders has announced a “Get Out The Vote” concert in San Francisco, coming up next Monday, June 6th, and the show has a fun lineup with a number of great groups.Headlining the event will be Dave Matthews, who will head to the West Coast event for a brief getaway from the Dave Matthews Band summer tour. The group is scheduled to perform in Holmdel, NJ on June 7th.Dave Matthews has been a spoken supporter of Sanders in the past, saying: I can stand up and say, “If I was President, I would make everybody’s boobs bigger, and I would make men stronger, and everybody would be happy, and everybody would be fed, and the oceans would be clean, and everyone would have jobs. And that’s what I’ll do if I’m President.” Wait, do you shit money? What are you fucking talking about? There’s no way you can do anything but damage our children’s future by claiming you can spend more money to make us stronger, make us better, make us happier, make the whole world a better, more peaceful place, and cut taxes and have less government. ‘Cause you’re just talking about something that’s fucking impossible. Also performing at the voter rally is Fishbone, Fantastic Negrito, and John Dexter Stewart, with special guest talks from Dr. Cornel West, Shailene Woodley and Danny Glover. The event is free to the public and you can RSVP here.last_img read more

LeSean McCoy on spoiling ‘Avengers: Endgame’ opening weekend: ‘Worst decision of my life’

first_img(He also spelled Tony Stark incorrectly, but reacting to “Toney” before anything else is like commenting on poor lawn care in front of a burning house.)RIP my dog TONEY STARK— Lesean McCoy (@CutonDime25) April 26, 2019MORE: NFL uniform rankingsMcCoy addressed the infamous spoiler with NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt, who asked about the fallout from the incident. McCoy told Brandt he watched “Avengers: Endgame” with his son and did a fake interview with him after the film ended, a father-son tradition. McCoy then tweeted Stark’s fate without realizing he was about to leave a gigantic fanbase extremely upset. “Avengers: Endgame” was released more than a year ago, so it shouldn’t need to be said. But, just in case, spoiler alert!Back on April 26, 2019, LeSean McCoy tweeted out five words — seven if you want to get technical about abbreviations — that would change his life forever. Prior to millions of Marvel fans heading to theaters on opening weekend to watch “Avengers: Endgame,” McCoy told the world that Iron Man had died. “That was the worst decision of my life. … I tweeted it, just having fun,” McCoy said. “But I didn’t know the reaction of the people. I didn’t know that. If I knew that, I would have never tweeted that. I didn’t know that people really got into the cartoons like that. I apologize. It was terrible. It was a bad decision.”Remember when LeSean McCoy tweeted about Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame before anybody saw it?We asked him about it. Incredible response ⤵️ pic.twitter.com/yRd8brzBb3— Kyle Brandt (@KyleBrandt) May 13, 2020Unfortunately for McCoy, he can’t just snap his fingers and take it back.last_img read more

Tite explains Brazil squad

first_imgBrazil I accept not everyone will agree with me – Tite explains Brazil squad Raisa Simplicio 08:32 16/9/2017 FacebookTwitterRedditcopy Tite Brasil Seleção coletiva 30 08 2017 Pedro Martins / MoWA Press Brazil Bolivia v Brazil Brazil v Chile Bolivia Chile WC Qualification South America Brasil Global Tour looks back at the Selecao boss’s press conference as he named his latest squad ahead of next month’s World Cup qualifiers On Friday Brazil coach Tite named his latest squad, for October’s World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Chile in what will be his final competitive tests before World Cup 2018.There were five changes and six new players from his previous squad, as Tite surprisingly selected a 24-man squad despite only being able to select 23 for his matchday squad.Taison, Rodrigo Caio, Fagner, Giuliano and Luan were all dropped from last month’s group. Why Barcelona god Messi will never be worshipped in the same way in Argentina Lyon treble & England heartbreak: The full story behind Lucy Bronze’s dramatic 2019 Liverpool v Man City is now the league’s biggest rivalry and the bitterness is growing READ MORE: What did Tite learn from WCQ?  | Willian states Brazil case  | Tite names new Brazil squad Monaco defender Jemerson and Flamengo playmaker Diego returned, while there were first call-ups under the current coach for Gremio defensive midfielder Arthur, Manchester City full-back Danilo, Shakhtar midfielder Fred and Shandong Luneng striker Diego Tardelli. Here’s what Tite had to say about the changes.TITE ON: ARTHUR Arthur Gremio Cruzeiro Copa do Brasil 16082017“When I went to the game (between Gremio and Botafogo this week), I wanted to see the atmosphere of the game, the emotional side, the pressure of it all, where you could size up the environment in which the kid was playing so naturally. I cannot close doors to a player in a team where he is so important despite his age.”I do not know if, in nine months from now, he will have a place, but he is a prospect for the future. I can compare him now to where Gabriel Jesus was [when he started his Brazil career].”TITE ON: COUTINHO OR WILLIAN Willian Coutinho Brazil Ecuador Eliminatorias 2018 31082017“Coutinho is more cerebral, can help more with attacking organisation but doesn’t attack space as well. We will choose between them according to our gameplan.”TITE ON: DIEGO TARDELLI Diego Tardelli Atlético-MG São Paulo Copa Libertadores 09052013“Diego Tardelli has a very good history with the national team, and left a legacy of his time in Dunga’s squad. He is playing well, I faced him when he was at Atletico-MG, and he was terrifying to play against. In 13 games against my Corinthians teams, he scored 11 goals and got an assist.”TITE ON: COMPETITION FOR PLACES Seeção Brasil treino Tite 29 08 2017“I’m encouraging the players that they still have the chance to break into the team. Competing at a high level helps them improve. I do not have (a percentage of the team that I’ve decided on for the World Cup).”TITE ON: DIEGO Diego Ribas Botafogo Flamengo Copa do Brasil 16082017“Diego started the season well, earning a call-up to the Selecao, was in good form. He has great ability. We saw it all in the past. He is not weighed down by the Brazil shirt, it doesn’t inhibit him. We have to take advantage of the time we have left. We have nine months left, and we have to have players who are prepared to deal with adversity. He has the capacity to do that.”TITE ON: VANDERLEI’S OMISSION Vanderlei Santos 03062017“[It won’t take a miracle for Vanderlei to be called up]. The coach is a human being and does not demand miracles from human beings. He has the humility to understand that there are other people with different ideas to his own, but he does not have to use those words. I do not demand miracles from anyone.”TITE ON: ROTATING THE CAPTAINCY Paulinho Brazil“I don’t do it just to be nice. I’ve learned that leadership requires a number of qualities. It’s behavioural, tactical, technical, about communication… everyone has these to varying degrees. I try to encourage players to show theirs.”TITE ON: GOALKEEPERS Alisson Taffarel Brazil Selecao treino 03092017“There is technical evaluation of everyone during training and matches. I don’t have lots of time… I cannot be nice to everyone. It so happens that we have retained out goalkeepers, but we have maybe seven in contention right now, we have a lot of strength in that position.“Diego Alves, Weverton, they have the chance, too. I watched the [Cassio and Vanderlei] in the [Santos vs Corinthians match], Alisson made the difference for Roma against Atletico Madrid [in the Champions League], keeping a clean sheet. Ederson is in good form. Diego Alves, unfortunately, couldn’t play in the Copa do Brasil [as he’s not registered]. Fabio, too, is performing to a high level.”TITE ON: EVOLUTION Elenco e Tite Brasil Melbourne 2017“It is a daily process of construction, in every training session, every squad, we study the player and talk to their coaches. And it’s inevitable that we take some from those who were here before us. Diego Tardelli was called up by other Brazil coaches.”Felipao said he had to set up a base of his team. That is absolutely correct. Mano Menezes did the same. We have to grow and get better, always looking to get to a higher level. That is what I will be doing against Bolivia, looking for a performance and a result which will be a huge challenge as our history there is not good.”TITE ON: EVERYONE STILL HAS A CHANCE Brazil Australia 13062017“I had about 32 names. We are seeking certain criteria, and try to be as detailed as possible. We seek information and analyse data to look for players who can perform in the Selecao. It would be very easy for me to select a lot of other players.“You don’t know just how challenging it is. I wish I had more time to work with them all. They are opportunities to open up our range of options and evaluate them. Jemerson and Danilo are examples of us doing that. Everyone has an opportunity.“Neither those who have joined us nor those who have been left out are final. More games will allow us to build our concepts further.”last_img read more
